The Feistfans-L FAQ can be found at: http://www.psihawk.com/feist/ If you don't have web access, but you do have email access, you can get a copy of the FAQ via email by sending a message to feist-faq@psihawk.com ------------------------------ Subject 2: Posting etiquette The following information gets posted as it becomes available, so don't pester REF: - When the next book is coming out - Miscellaneous Midkemia projects - When and where REF is going to do book signings - REF's travel schedule (e.g. COMDEX, E3, etc.) Also, the following subject matter should generally be avoided, for various reasons: - Any combination of REF's books as a movie [see the FAQ] - Personal Computer/Operating System religious wars [way off-topic] - The belief that Pug's parents *must* be someone important or powerful [see the FAQ] - Posting stories (fan fiction or otherwise) [can cause copyright problems] - That you don't like the cover of bookand REF should choose a different cover [Cover art is up to the publisher, not the author] - Whether REF will write any prequels [Short answer: no] If you really wish to discuss these "frequently discussed" topics again, please look at one of the following: Feistfans-L Archive http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~fellowsd/REF/ FEISTFANS-L Digest Archive http://www.ferkel.co.uk/rip/digests.html and read through past discussions before rehashing material already discussed. ------------------------------ Subject 3: Can REF come to our town for a book signing? Not necessarily. Your best (and only) bet is to convince your local bookstore to convince REF's current publisher (Avon in the North America, Harper-Collins in Europe/Australia) to send him to your city for a book signing. REF has no control over where he gets sent. ------------------------------ Subject 4: Upcoming books The hardcover version of Talon of the Silver Hawk (Book 1, Conclave of Shadows) was released in April 2003 in the US. The Legends of the Riftwar series has no publisher in the US and none is forthcoming. These books are available in the UK (e.g. http://amazon.co.uk): - Honoured Enemy (Co: William Forstchen, Book 1, Legends of the Riftwar) - Murder in Lamut (Co: Joel Rosenberg, Book 2, Legends of the Riftwar) - Jimmy the Hand (Co: Steve Sterling, Book 3, Legends of the Riftwar) Future books (US) include the following (in approximate working order): - The Conclave of Shadows + King of Foxes (Book 2, due Fall 2003 in the UK) - Riftwar 3 + Either part of Conclave of Shadows or separate series - Atlas of Midkemia (on the drawing board, no further info) The following have been mentioned, but have been put off: - Another dark fantasy novel (in the same vein as Faerie Tale) - A Sci-Fi Adventure Novel, tentatively titled _The Jigsaw Lady_ - Riftwar Legacy (no existing contract) + Krondor: The Crawler (Book 4) + Krondor: The Dark Mage (Book 5) Finally, about any Kelewan books: ******************************************************************* ** There are no plans for any more Empire books, with or without ** ** Janny Wurts. ** ******************************************************************* See the Feistfans-L FAQ for more details. ------------------------------ Subject 5: MUSH/MUD/MOO? Due to lack of developers and the lack of popularity of MUSHes, RiftMUSH is effectively closed. ------------------------------ Subject 6: IRC? You can connect to the #Midkemia channel on DalNet. Already published is "Betrayal at Krondor" by Sierra/Dynamix for DOS/Windows, and "Return to Krondor" by Pyrotechnix and distributed by Sierra. Currently, there are no companies working on another Midkemia based computer game. ------------------------------ Subject 8: How do I unsubscribe? (Or "Help! Its too much mail!")
